On one of my stranger online meanderings, I chanced upon the writings and services of Irene Leonard. I’ve got enough to think about at the moment in terms of professional improvement having just done by Myers Briggs test (ENTJ, by the way), so it wasn’t her coaching courses that I found of interest.
It was her page on self-promotion that caught my eye, and from which I’ve re-produced this image. As mentioned previously on our blog, we’re in the middle of an internal research project to define what metrics our clients should be employing within social media. And it struck me that a brand could do a lot worse than apply some of the advice from Irene’s ‘Self-promotion wheel’ to its own communications.

I wonder if Irene will be my MySpace friend?

    You are such an ENTJ!

(I’m either an INTP or an ENTP. If I were to believe in this)

thanks for the link, though. Interesting.

Fieldmarshal MacMillan… y’know, that makes you one with less than 2% of Americans.

I’ve never taken the test. I fear the worst.
