I’ve recently mentioned and recommended Karl Long’s blog to a few marketers who have expressed an interest in delving a little deeper into the thought processes behind businesses actively using social media. Here’s another reminder to check him out if you haven’t already.

Not only do I share many of Karl’s views, but I’m extremely jealous of the way he can take quite complex points about social media and express them in such a simple and straight-forward manner. Here’s a recent example, which recently came up in discussions on a couple of our own client projects,

IMHO I believe the future of all business will be based on what Lawrence Lessig calls a Hybrid Economy, where a business co-creates value with it’s customers, and the businesses that win in that case will be the ones that not only have a system to capture and share that value, but inspire their customers to create more and more valuable things and ideas.

A really helpful thought, really clearly expressed. So if you aren’t already, go read what Mr Long has to say on this and other matters.
