The twitter experiment continues

Well I’m twitting about twice a day, just as it occurs to me. What is interesting is that I’m now also a twitter friend of Matt and Dave K who we met NYC last week so I know what they’re up to - which is odd. I’m pretty sure the novelty will wear off although the info I’m getting is really useless (well its disposable and not really actionable), completely bite size and requires no response - so it’s not like trying to keep up with emails, RSS feeds and the weekend papers. So I feel slightly tangentially in touch with the others on my twitter feed without having any responsibility to contact them in return. Possibly because my own twittering is taking care of the need for reciprocal contact. For example I know now that Matt is in Boston today and that it was his 9th wedding anniversary a couple of days ago.
I’m also starting to get random strangers inviting me to be their twitter friends. That’s odd. It seems abit like the MySpace thing of just adding friends to ‘game’ the application. But I’m a Linkedin generation person - I need to actually know someone to want to connect to them. Showing my age.
