Exciting news for those full-timers at RMM who like hot beverages delivered to their desk at regular intervals: intern season is once again open! Yup, over the next 4 months we’ll have a series of fresh-faced, keen eyed, wet-behind-the-ears university students arriving to perform all the donkey work we hate doing enjoy an apprenticeship in everything ‘social meedjah’.
What makes our intern program just that little bit groovier than most is that we allow all the interns through our doors to work on a personal project over the course of their four week sojourn. These projects look to incorporate social media and something they are really passionate about or interested in. Previous examples include a look at the WikiTrust project (pt1, pt2, pt3), an exploration of social media and online gaming (pt1, pt2, pt3) and an investigation in to how social media is affecting university lecturers (pt1, pt2, pt3).
Over the coming months we’ll be posting the research projects this year’s crop of interns come up with for your reading pleasure.
