Launching Renew: social media relations case study

Renew is a soon-to-be-launched on-street financial news and marketing channel, broadcast on 32″ hi-resolution screens on either side of blast-proof recycling units in the City of London. We worked with Renew to generate conversations around the announcement of the installation of their hi-tech ‘Renew’ recycling units in the City of London.

Ahead of a series of meetings with potential sponsors Renew’s aim was to generate online chatter around its innovative units. We helped Renew by developing online dialogue amongst the tech blogging community, online marketers and trade journalists.

By targeting key bloggers, RMM was able to help Renew increase their coverage from a total of five news and blog links on Google in September 2008 to over 60 mentions a month later.

Coverage of Renew appeared on Engadget, Associated Foreign Press, Ubergizmo, the Register and Gizmodo.
