About two and half years ago I sat in a small dark office in West London with Iain, Mat (the other M) and our accountant Whispering Bern and we signed into existence the first business I have ever owned; RMM. I was filled with excitement at the prospect of being in partnership with two other people with whom I felt I could do amazing and interesting things and really take advantage of the rise in digital and the need for clear independent strategic advice. And do it like it should be done; independent, technology agnostic, carefully considered and clearly explained.
It’s been an interesting two and half years, along the way we lost Mat (the other M), delved deep into social media and moved out of East London. But now it’s my turn to mosey along. I’m off to do digital strategy at an international integrated agency. I am leaving behind me Iain and the rest of the team who in their turn I know will continue to do amazing and interesting things. Its a very amicable parting, in fact we’re all off to see Smog play next week. (Has anyone seen the tickets?)
Starting and running a small business is an act of unbridled optimism and I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for those who attempt such bravery in these small-minded venal times. It can only happen with the help of lots of people and we have received more than our fair share of such help. So for my own part, to all of the people who have worked with and for us, given us projects, office space, mentoring, introductions and tax advice; many thanks.
