It is not a particularly comfortable time for the pharmaceutical industry. Several extremely profitable drugs, such as Lipitor, Zyprexa, and Levaquin, have lost their patents, whilst other big sellers, like Plavix, Seroquel and Singulair,  lose theirs this year.
